In high school, my friends always made jokes about how I was just the biggest nerd ever, but trapped in the cheerleader’s body. Even though I definitely was both a big nerd and a varsity cheerleader, I definitely feel like I fall more towards one end of the spectrum of my personality… the nerdy one! And of all my little nerd-isms, one of my dorky attributes stands out as one of my most cherished traits… my organizational skills!
So how does organization have anything to do with living the good life? It has everything to do with living the good life!
From my folders to binders to desk accessories, I can’t get enough of cute and quirky supplies that help me to stay organized. Every day when I look at my desk, it actually makes me feel happy and relieved… dorky, yes, but also so helpful!
Being organized and having things in their place really is something that improves quality of life by a ton. We all feel stressed sometimes, and sometimes it seems like our minds are a jumbled mess and our lives are just going crazy. Organization just gives that little bit of comfort, knowing that you have everything where it is supposed to be and you know where you are supposed to be and when you’re supposed to be there.
Some of my favorite little helpers include my Erin Condren planner (www.erincondren.com) used with Papermate Flair Pens (www.papermate.com) and my Martha Stewart desk supplies form Staples (www.staples.com.) Not only do I love the fact that these supplies are cute, they really do the job of keeping my mind from going completely crazy.
Since we all know how stressful and hectic life can get sometimes, try a new organizational strategy this week! Folders, binders, a filing system, a planner (my favorite)… the possibilities are endless and I bet that if you do try it, you will feel just a little bit less overwhelmed… and less stress means a better life!
Everyday, we should do things that make our lives a little easier and for me that is organization. If organization isn’t your thing, find what is your thing… it will sure be worth it!
These are my Papermate Flair pens and one of the monthly spreads from last year’s Erin Condren Life Planner. Not my busiest time… but still plenty of craziness going on! I love this planner because it offers monthly layouts plus weekly layouts, with the days divided into morning, evening, and daytime sections! It’s perfect for a girl who has so many places to be in one day!
Last year, I chose this lavender chevron design for my Erin Condren Life Planner.
This year, I chose this geometrical shape with customized colors. You can also add your name to the Erin Condren planners! This year, I also added the elastic bands so my pages stay together and don’r become crinkled in my bag. These planners can get a little pricey, but it is definitely worth it for something that you use everyday and will make your life so much easier!
This is my binder that I use for classes. I got this monogram printout from http://www.forchicsake.com! It’s a super cute blog with tips on style, DIY, food, and more! Check it out!
These super convenient folders are a new addition for the new school year – I am in love with them! As you can see, there is an extra side of the folder… when you open this side, you can see that it is actually a three pocket folder! It’s so handy with the little bit of extra space!
Always remember to stay organized! Nerds unite!
